Valencia are reportedly pushing hard to bring back Joao Cancelo from his loan spell at Inter.

According to Superdeporte, Valencia have identified Cancelo as their third January arrival after Luciano Vietto and Francis Coquelin, to the extent that Coach Marcelino is prepared to wait until the last few days of the transfer window for the right-back.

His agent Jorge Mendes would have also ‘insisted’ that Cancelo was released by Inter, but the newspaper warns the Nerazzurri are demanding a fee for the Portuguese’s arrangement to be cut short.

A lack of form and fitness has limited the 23-year-old to just five starts for the Beneamata this season, making it unlikely that they will activate their €25m purchase option in the summer.
