Valencia have pointed to their Champions League match against Atalanta in Milan to explain a great deal of the Coronavirus outbreak in their city.

Atalanta welcomed Los Che to play at San Siro in the first leg of their last 16 encounter in the Champions League on February 19.

The La Liga club has now issued a statement claiming that the fans travelling to Milan brought the Coronavirus back to their city and has “caused about 35 per cent” of the cases in the City of Joy.

The La Liga club has now issued a statement claiming that the fans travelling to Milan brought the Coronavirus back to their city and has “caused about 35 per cent” of the cases in the City of Joy.

The club released a statement reading: “Despite the strict measures taken by the club after playing a UEFA Champions League match in Milan in February 2020, an area confirmed as high risk by the Italian authorities days later, by removing staff from the workplace and public, the latest results show that the intrinsic exposure has caused about 35 per cent of positive cases.”
