Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi has yet to renew his contract and will meet with the managers to discuss the decisive transfer market in the upcoming days.

Il Messaggero reports the coach wants €3m a season to stay at the Olimpico, but patron Claudio Lotito has only offered the same terms for a further year.

The newspaper claims the first offer was almost a provocation for Inzaghi, who has picked up the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.

This season, Inzaghi’s men were back in the Champions League and qualified for the knockout stages for the first time in 20 years.

Inzaghi’s deal expires in June and he refused the offer of a one-year contract worth €2.3m, meaning he can discuss with other clubs from January, and the coach has asked for guarantees in the upcoming transfer market too.

Il Messaggero claims Lotito told him to ‘worry about finishing in the top four’, but the January market will be the subject of a summit to be held in the coming days.
