UEFA unveiled their Champions League end of season awards today and Milan feature heavily.

Defender Mexes picked up the prestigious award for best goal of the tournament thanks to his extraordinary chest and overhead kick from 20 metres out against Anderlecht in the group phase.

It was particularly impressive considering the centre-back hadn’t found the net since March 2011.

Teammate Abbiati was also in the awards for save of the season – although UEFA handed it to him for two incidents.

They were both within the same match against Hulk and Aleksandr Anyukov when beating Zenit St Petersburg 3-2 in Russia.

Among the other awards were Bayern Munich as team of the season, Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp as best Coach and best moment the one when Ivan Krstanovic finally scored Dinamo Zagreb’s first goal in the competition in their third year.
