Udinese are without a win since September 12 and have entered a retreat in view of the match against Sassuolo in Serie A this weekend.

The Bianconeri have picked up 11 points in as many games and sit 14th in the table so far, still in danger of being pulled into the relegation zone.

But Luca Gotti’s men are still three points above the relegation zone, with Spezia, Salernitana and Cagliari currently occupying the bottom three.

The Friuli picked up seven points from the first three games, including wins against Venezia and Spezia.

But Gotti’s men haven’t won since the three points against Thiago Motta’s Aquilotti on September 12.

Three consecutive defeats followed, before a streak of four draws and three straight 1-1 games against Bologna, Atalanta and Hellas Verona.

Serie A Highlights: Inter 2-0 Udinese

Last weekend, Udinese lost 2-0 to reigning champions Inter and the hierarchy at the Dacia Arena are starting to become worried.

Gotti’s job in Udine doesn’t seem uncertain for now, but the players must turn things around to keep the distance to the bottom three.

The club has decided to send the players into a retreat after the poor performance in the defeat against Inter last Sunday.

Tuttomercatoweb reports Gotti’s position is currently safe and Pierpaolo Marino underlined the faith in the coach, but stressed the retreat is to avoid a bigger setback after years of difficulties.
