Juventus have been drawn into Group H of the Champions League, where they’ll face Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica and Maccabi Haifa.

The Bianconeri will be expecting to progress to the knockout stages of the competition for the 9th consecutive time. The last time they failed to escape their group came in the 2013-14 season, when they finished third behind Real Madrid and Galatasaray.

The toughest opponent in Juventus’ group is undoubtedly PSG, who are still on the hunt for their first major European title following their recent second place finish in 2020. Benfica will also put up a tough fight, but the Bianconeri will be feeling confident against Maccabi Haifa.

Juventus have a strong history against PSG, remaining undefeated in their eight prior meetings, but the most recent of these came in February 1997, so it’s safe to say that things have majorly shifted in the French capital since then. The Bianconeri won six of these eight games, drawing the other two.

Benfica have faced Juventus six times in the past and their most recent clash came in the Europa League semi-finals in the 2013-14 season, where the Portuguese side came out on top after winning both legs. The Old Lady have only ever beaten Benfica once before, in a Europa League quarter final clash in the 1992-93 campaign.

Finally, this season will not be the first time that Juventus face off against Maccabi Haifa, having beaten the Israeli team twice 1-0 in the Champions League group stages in the 2009-10 season.
