Journalist Christian Falk confirms Roberto De Zerbi is among the candidates to replace Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, but the Bavarians are ‘not prepared for a coach to take a large team of assistants with him’ and RDZ ‘doesn’t speak German.’

Despite Brighton’s 4-0 Europa League loss to Roma on Thursday night, De Zerbi remains one of the most sought-after managers in Europe and has been linked with several top clubs, including Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

Reputable German journalist Christian Falk has told Caught Offside that the Italian tactician is a candidate for Bayern Munich if the Bavarians fail to land Xabi Alonso.

New club director Max Eberl finds the Italian ‘very interesting’, but there are two reasons why De Zerbi may not be heading to Bayern Munich, and it’s not Brighton’s loss in Rome.

“The new head of sports, Max Eberl, finds the Italian very interesting,” said Falk

“However, in Munich, they are not prepared for a coach to take a large team of assistants with him. That could be an obstacle. It is also a problem that De Zerbi does not speak German.”

This may be good news for Liverpool and Manchester United who are also monitoring the Italian tactician.

Even the Reds have placed Xabi Alonso high on their shortlist of Jurgen Klopp’s replacements, while the Red Devils must decide whether to continue with Erik ten Hag for one more season.
