Insigne was carried from the pitch during the Partenopei’s 1-0 victory over Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”5″>Fiorentina yesterday, after landing awkwardly and sustaining probable ligament damage to his right knee.

Il Mattino reports that the 23-year-old will be assessed by the San Paolo medical team today, but the Italian international could be out of action for over two months.

The Neopolitan newspaper states that in a best-case scenario Insigne could return within a month, but if the sprain is more severe the local hero could be missing for a longer period of time, with a two-month lay-off possible.

The news will come as a blow to Rafa Benitez’s side, as Insigne has contributed a goal and two assists to the Napoli cause so far this season.
