Former Juventus defender Igor Tudor reveals two things he and Antonio Conte have in common and insists: ‘Coaches are important, but players are the protagonists.’

Conte and Tudor will meet in Marseille vs. Tottenham in the Champions League tomorrow. The Italian tactician will face a one-match ban, so the ex-Juventus stars won’t physically meet on the touchline before kick-off.

Tudor spoke to Sky Sport Italia before his pre-match press conference at the Velodrome. He was asked what he and Conte have in common: “There are surely similarities: the character and desire to obtain a lot from the team, but tomorrow the players will go on the pitch,” he said.

“We can add something, coaches are important, but players are the protagonists.”

Conte and Tudor are good friends and spent several years together at Juventus.

They also returned to the club at the end of their playing career.

The former Italy international won 13 trophies with Juventus as a footballer, plus three Serie A titles and two Italian Supercups as a coach.

Tudor was Andrea Pirlo’s assistant in 2020-21 when Conte won the Scudetto with Inter.
