Former Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s situation at Chelsea just keeps deteriorating after coach Thomas Tuchel tore into him for a dismal performance against Manchester City.

The 1-0 defeat was decided by a splendid Kevin de Bruyne solo effort and has given City a 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

After benching Lukaku as punishment for his Sky Sport Italia interview in which he apologised profusely to Inter fans for his summer departure, the Belgian has failed to make up for it with terrible showings.

While Lukaku had criticised Tuchel for his tactical choices and not giving him the right service, the coach hit right back this afternoon.

“Sometimes he has to do the service. He had many ball losses and a huge chance,” Tuchel told BT Sport.

“Of course, we want to serve him but he’s part of the team. The performance up front in the first half, we can do much, much better.”

Meanwhile, Inter beat Juventus 2-1 in extra time on Wednesday to win the Supercoppa Italiana, are currently top of the Serie A table and will face Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16.

  1. Your site will soon become history with your foolish and senseless headlines all in the name of clicks.

  2. Please write more about Douglas Costa. He played in Juventus and thus has an undoubtful connection with Italian football. His adventures in the second Brazilian league must be of great interest here!

  3. The quality of this site has deteriorated drastically in recent times. No doubt due in large part to how difficult it is running a profitable news website in this day and age.

Anyway, I’ll take my leave before this site resorts to posting videos of kittens dressed in Serie A jerseys.
