Giovanni Trapattoni has commented that he hopes to soon reach agreement to become Morocco’s new national team Coach.

The 75-year-old has flown out to Marrakesh to hold talks with the Lions of the Atlas over a proposed four-year deal.

Reports in recent days have grown to the extent of suggesting he is set to be unveiled by the end of the week.

The former Juventus and Italy Coach has now briefly commented on the state of negotiations.

“I hope to close out talks soon, but it is not easy,” Trapattoni is quoted today by the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Let’s see what will happen in the coming days.”

The pink paper report that Trapattoni has yet to meet with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s President Fouzi Lekjaa, he remains the favourite ahead of other believed candidates Dick Advocaat, Badou Zaki and Herve Renard.
