Roma captain Francesco Totti will help raise funds which are aimed at sending a little girl for life saving surgery in America.

While warming up at the Stadio Tardini on Monday before the League game against Parma, Totti overheard a stadium announcement about little Chanel Bocconi.

The girl, who shares the same name as Totti’s daughter, is suffering from a rare illness which the child’s family are hoping to defeat with an operation in Boston.

Parma and a number of their supporter groups have been setting up events to raise cash and they’ll now be helped by the almost 37-year-old.

The Bocconi family need around €300,000 for an initial round of treatment. They currently have a little over €200,000.
