Tottenham are ramping up their offer for Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic to £20m.

Their interest in the Bosnian international has been well known for some time, but the Giallorossi always rejected any proposals.

According to the Daily Express, Spurs are now prepared to increase their proposal to £20m cash.

They face competition, as the 23-year-old was also linked with Barcelona this summer.

Pjanic had been determined to stay and fight at troubled Roma, but was met with a hail of abuse from fans when driving into the training ground on Tuesday.

The ultras were staging a protest and insulting every player or director who passed through the gates.
