The Uruguay international confessed he was not happy in London and struggled to adapt, while his family is having even more issues dealing with life in England.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Torreira has told Milan via agent Rodrigo Bentancur that he is determined to join Milan this summer and reunite with his former Sampdoria Coach Marco Giampaolo.

The first offer on the table will be a two-year loan at a cost of €5m and obligation to buy in June 2021 for another €30m.

Sportitalia claim Arsenal are asking for €40m and would much prefer the cash upfront, but the Rossoneri have serious financial problems and need to balance the books.

The other option would be to include an exchange for Franck Kessie, who dreams of the Premier League, but so far the Gunners do not seem to be interested.
