However, Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that this has not put off the European champions from pursuing their target.

The Italian daily reports that the Presidents of the respective clubs, Urbano Cairo and Florentino Perez, are on excellent terms and will discuss a deal when they meet for next week's Champions League clash between Los Blancos and Napoli.

In addition to Madrid, clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga are said to be interested in securing Belotti's signature.
