New Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic promises Torino “will do everything” to qualify for Europe next season.

The Serbian has replaced Giampiero Ventura on the Granata bench, as the Italian has taken over as CT of the national team.

“It’s an honour to be here,” Mihajlovic said in his presentation Press conference.

“You can breathe the pages of the history here, a club built on sweat and tears. I’m glad to be at a club which reflects my characteristics.

“You can breathe the pages of the history here, a club built on sweat and tears. I’m glad to be at a club which reflects my characteristics.

“Toro are fighters, and that’s what we’ll do, while also trying to entertain the fans. Torino has an illustrious and heroic history – I’m thinking of Superga – and the whole team has to be worthy of that shirt.

“Europe? We’re starting at a disadvantage compared to the big clubs, but if we’re united we can get those seven or eight extra points which would take us to Europe.

“We’ll do everything to qualify for Europe.”

Mihajlovic was also asked about his formation, and in particular how that will affect the future of wing-back Bruno Peres.

“I don’t have a definite formation, I’ve played every formation throughout my career. Well, except from a back-three, but I could even change that after all these years…

“We’ll definitely have an attacking mentality, always taking risks and wanting to win. Everything will depend on our mentality and our spirit.

“The defence could change from a three to a four. I have a contract for two years here, but I hope to stay for 10.”
