Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini says a €12m offer for Victor Ibarbo was rejected, whilst he regrets Radja Nainggolan’s departure.

The Belgium international left for Roma in January on an initial loan basis and is now co-owned between the clubs.

For Cagliari’s current President, who came in only after terms on this deal were agreed, the player’s future may not be in Sardinia, but perhaps also not just in Rome.

“It’s too bad we lost him,” Giulini has commented in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We have been enjoying him even in the Roma shirt.

“Anyway, we still have ownership of his registration. Maybe Radja will even score goals in the Champions League, let’s see.

“We will talk with Roma. Maybe also someone else will turn up.”

Giulini also commented on speculation surrounding Cagliari forward Victor Ibarbo.

“The Colombian has the talent to play in a top team.

“In the summer we rejected a €12m bid for him, partly because we’d just lost [Davide] Astori [to Roma]. Now under Zeman he can do even better.”
