Luca Toni reveals he “always wanted to score a chipped penalty in a big stadium” after Verona held Milan 2-2.

The striker had opened the scoring at San Siro with his ‘Panenka’ style spot-kick.

“I had told my teammates that before I retire I wanted to score a chipped penalty, even a little chip, in an important stadium. This felt like the right opportunity,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We wanted to continue the positive run of results. We knew it could be tough, as Milan needed points too, but we played well and at the end of the day the Nico Lopez goal arrived and it’s worth gold for us.”
