“Goodbyes are never happy,” Tonelli wrote on his Facebook page.
“I want to do it with a smile though, like when I arrived in the first team. I’m leaving a home, family, friends and above all brothers, as well as a city which, although tiny, offers great joy.
“I learned a lot of things thanks to Empoli, above all knowing how to fight and never give up even when the road seems steeper than ever.
“I’ll miss you all, from first to last!”
