Marek Hamsik’s agent confirms his client wants to stay with Napoli despite “speculation and rumours”.
The Partenopei captain scored six goals and provided 11 assists in Serie A this season, helping his side to second-place.
“It’s been a year of redemption for Marek,” Juraj Venglos said on Radio Crc.
“Hamsik is happy to be playing for a Coach [Maurizio Sarri] who explains to him the best position to take up on the pitch and, above all, believes in him. That’s what’s made the difference this year.

“Will he stay? It’s a great advantage that Napoli are playing in the Champions League. He’s been at Napoli for nine years, and every season there’s speculation and rumours about him.
“Marek is tied to the city, so while it’s right to tell you that everything is possible in football, the fact that Napoli are in the Champions League is a big advantage.”
Hamsik will captain Slovakia at the European Championships this summer, and Venglos believes they can qualify from a group featuring Wales, England and Russia.
“The goal of Marek and his national team is to pass the group, although it’ll be difficult at the Euros. I think Slovakia are a strong team though, and can achieve that objective.”
