Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli is expected to accept a plea bargain with the FIGC Prosecutor this week, while Sandro Tonali’s agent met the Turin Prosecutor on Monday morning.

Sky Sport Italia claims Fagioli will learn the length of his ban this week after accepting a plea bargain with the FIGC Prosecutor. Fagioli has admitted to gambling on football matches and self-reported to the FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné. The 22-year-old is expected to get a ban from 10 to 18 months.

He also provided key information to the Turin Prosecutor about an investigation on bets through illegal betting platforms. The Juventus midfielder reportedly revealed that his compatriot Sandro Tonali suggested an app for illegal betting.

Tonali and Nicolò Zaniolo were formally put under investigation last week after being questioned by Italian Police at Coverciano.

Tonali’s lawyer Marco Feno met the Turin Prosecutor on Monday morning. “We met for a few minutes just to confirm my appointment for the case which has not been formalised yet,” Feno told the press agency AGI.

He also added that he had no updates regarding a possible interrogation of his client this week.

According to multiple sources in Italy, Tonali is also expected to self-report to FIGC and has been seeking help from a therapist to treat gambling addiction.

Zaniolo has denied gambling on football games, saying he only played poker and blackjack but has insisted he didn’t know he was using illegal platforms.
