Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is ‘still frustrated with myself and upset for the team’ after his costly error against Liverpool.
The Rossoneri needed a victory at San Siro and to hope that Atletico Madrid didn’t win comfortably away to FC Porto.
Neither result went their way and they crashed out of both the Champions League and Europe entirely, as although Tomori had opened the scoring, his defensive error sparked the move for Divock Origi’s winner.
“Still frustrated with myself and upset for the team about yesterday. I will learn from that mistake and work hard to make sure it doesn’t happen again,” wrote Tomori on Instagram.
“But so proud to have scored my first Champions League goal at the San Siro for @acmilan.
“Now we have the rest of the season to ensure this club is back where it belongs next season and to make this season memorable.
“FORZA MILAN🔴⚫️. Thank God Always🙏🏾.”

Grande Tomori. A man willing to accept responsibility, fair play to him.
No need champ. learn from it and forget about it. His reaction showed just how much he cares and how critical of himself he is.
A true Rossonero. Forza Milan and forza Tomori.
Great to see this guy being accepted and even loved by Milan fans already. Had seen a bit of him at Chelsea and a fair bit from when he played in The Championship in England and he always looked so promising. That promise is coming good at Milan and we badly needed it to.
