Tiago Pinto reveals why he has decided to join Roma from Benfica: ‘Friedkin and I share the same ideas.’
Tiago Pinto was appointed new Roma General Manager back in November and he is set to begin his spell in the Capital in January.
“I’ve spoken with [Dan and Ryan] Friedkin and we have the same ideas,” he told Benfica’s official TV.

Tiago Pinto was appointed new Roma General Manager back in November and he is set to begin his spell in the Capital in January.
“I’ve spoken with [Dan and Ryan] Friedkin and we have the same ideas,” he told Benfica’s official TV.
“When I arrive I will understand the work that has to be done. They wanted me for me for what I did here at Benfica. I’m going there to modernise their sporting department.
“Serie A is a very unpredictable league, like all the most important ones in Europe. Big sides are suffering from lack of audience. The most important thing is to create a winning mentality, play game by game and then achieve our targets," he continued.
"I have tried to prepare myself best for this farewell. Although it is my will, Benfica is much more than a job.
“It’s a great pain to leave the club. It was the love of my life and it was a very thoughtful decision, but I felt it was time to embrace this new challenge.”
