Roma director Tiago Pinto warns they are ‘only 50 per cent through the Europa League semi-final with Bayer Leverkusen, maybe less,’ as extra time is a very realistic possibility.
It kicks off at the BayArena at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).
The Giallorossi won the first leg 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to a goal from youth product Edoardo Bove, so with no away goals rule in Europe, any defeat by a one-goal margin would lead to extra time.
Paulo Dybala, Chris Smalling and Stephan El Shaarawy are only fit for the bench, but Andrea Belotti and Tammy Abraham start together upfront, so this is not a defensive line-up.
“We are very happy that the Roma fans are here with us again, they travel in incredible numbers,” Tiago Pinto told Sky Sport Italia.
“We are still only 50 per cent through the semi-final, maybe less, so we take nothing for granted.”
Despite failing to score a single Serie A goal this season, Belotti is still picked yet again to lead the line, this time alongside Abraham.
“The job of a striker in modern football is much more than just scoring goals. We all have faith in Belotti and he will have a great game.”
Tiago Pinto confessed he is embarrassed by it, but is extremely superstitious, above all when sitting in the stands.
“People who love me think I am intelligent, but if they knew all the superstitions I stick to, especially on match day! I can’t even list them, there are too many…”
The Europa League Final will be at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on May 31.
