Palermo’s Franco Vazquez has received a three-game Coppa Italia ban after his red card against Alessandria.

The playmaker was dismissed during his side’s 3-2 defeat at Renzo Barbera after elbowing Alex Sirri.

The disciplinary commission has today released its verdict, with Vazquez given a three-match ban for the “violent elbow”, with Salernitana’s Andrea Eusepi given the same sanction for a kick.

Alessandria also ended the match with 10-men, and Roberto Sabato has been given a one-match ban after he was dismissed for denying a goalscoring opportunity, meaning he’ll miss the Last 16 tie with Genoa.

Sabato has also been given an official warning, as he was booked in the game for “misconduct toward an opponent”.

Emanuele Calaio of Spezia and Mario Samprisi of Vicenza have both been given a one-match ban for their respective red cards.
