Milan ultras held up a cryptic banner during today’s match against Sampdoria, which could have been aimed at midfielder Franck Kessie.

The 25-year-old Ivorian midfielder has only recently returned to the team following last month’s Africa Cup of Nations commitments, but his return has not been met with fanfare amidst his contract situation. His current deal expires at the end of this season and a renewal doesn’t appear to be close, with the club refusing to match his high salary demands.

Some Milan fans loudly booed Kessie as he was warming up for the match against Sampdoria, and a banner was displayed in the stands of the San Siro, which reads: “Those who love Milan show it with facts, cordial goodbyes to those who are dissatisfied.”

Whilst there’s a chance that the banner was not aimed specifically at the Rossoneri midfielder, it’s clear that the message applies to his situation as well.

Kessie seems destined to leave Milan at the end of this season, with a move abroad the most likely scenario. A number of top clubs around Europe, including Barcelona, are keen to pick up the 25-year-old Ivorian midfielder. He has scored five goals in 17 Serie A appearances this campaign.

  1. Agreed RossoNero! Romagnoli is an intriguing one though. He’s been a fan since very young, I’d personally pay ACM to play! Can’t believe he will leave but then his agent is a parasite.

  2. Gone are the days when football was love. Now it’s all about money and it is well understood. Even most of us fans will do the same thing.

What I don’t understand is, you were saying somethings at the Olympics and all the fans were singing your praises, and you get back to Milan and everything changed. The company tripled your salary and still its not enough?

What these guys do nowadays is run their contract down so they can get the maximum salary and commission to their agents by leaving on a free, I f you wanna be a man with values, you should sit down with the manager and let them know you wanna go have a new experience in other team, sign an understanding and let the team get some fee on you , by that you are leaving through the front door, not by being a greed.

  3. So well said Ralph. If only more players like that existed nowadays.

Most of us Rossoneri fans are so disappointed in the situation, not so much that it is happening, but by his actions after his statements at the end of the Olympics. We fell for it hook line and sinker and we feel betrayed by that.

Now even if he stays, we will always have a sour taste for how he handled this. We will have little respect for him and would have gone down several notches. President becoming a civil servant. He is totally responsible for his, and his agent’s glutinous requests. Move on Kessie as you clearly don’t have the level of love for the club necessary to stay in this project.
