Reports on Monday suggested Suning were trying to but out Thohir’s 30 percent stake in Inter, only to be quoted a €200m asking price, but the Indonesian assured there were no problems behind the scenes.

“My relationship with Suning is serene, we’ve met several times, both in China and Milan,” he told Goal.com Indonesia.

“Everything’s fine, the news that’s circulated in the last few days isn’t true. Now there’s Steven, heir of the Zhang family, in Milan.

“Spalletti? He’s doing very well. Now we need to consolidate ourselves in to achieve our objectives.

“We’re midway through the season and Inter are in the top positions. Given that there will be four Italian teams in the Champions League next season, I’m very optimistic about achieving this objective.”
