Madrid paid €24m to sign the 21-year-old in the summer of 2017 after he showed promise at city rivals Atletico and during a loan spell with Alaves.

He made 23 appearances in his first season for Los Blancos, winning the Supercopa, European Super Cup, Club World Cup and Champions League.

However, his development stunted last term and he has since been replaced at the Santiago Bernabeu by compatriot Ferland Mendy.

Theo will reinforce a left side that could lose at least one of Ricardo Rodriguez, Diego Laxalt and Ivan Strinic this summer.
