Juventus President Andrea Agnelli reveals Carlos Tevez asked in January to return to Boca Juniors this summer.

The striker will return to his boyhood club once paperwork has been completed, and the patron admits the move has been on the cards for some time.

“Today, Tevez is still a Juventus player,” Agnelli reminded journalists in a Press conference.

“Today, Tevez is still a Juventus player,” Agnelli reminded journalists in a Press conference.

“Our relationship with Carlos has always been very transparent. We spoke to Carlos in January, and Carlos expressed his desire, if the conditions were right, to return to Argentina.

“His personal situation meant he wanted to be able to finish his career in Argentina, with Boca. As you know, their President [Daniel] Angelici came to visit me in February or March, and has always been very clear.

“We’ve always had a very transparent relationship with Tevez, like [Andrea] Pirlo, he’s a player to whom we owe so much.”
