Carlos Tevez hailed Gigi Buffon for a crucial penalty save and already focused Juventus on Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine netted twice in tonight’s 3-0 victory away to Atalanta, scoring his second just moments after Buffon parried a German Denis spot-kick.

The score was still 1-0 at the time, so the goalkeeper prevented an equaliser that could’ve changed the game.

“We all know Buffon is great, the whole world knows it. After that we had to react and score straight away, which thankfully we did,” Tevez told Sky Sport Italia.

He has scored six goals so far this season between Serie A and the Champions League, so will he be on target on Wednesday against Atletico Madrid?

“Let’s wait and see, hoping it will be a good game in Madrid, which we want for the fans.”

Juve and Roma are still locked together on a 100 per cent record after five rounds, but they go head-to-head next Sunday.

“I think it is too early to say that it’s a two-horse race, as there are many games to go. It is a big game, but there’s too long to go before we can think about that.”
