English referee Anthony Taylor will officiate the opening Champions League tie between Juventus and PSG, while Srdjan Jovanovic is assigned to RB Salzburg vs. Milan.

The tournament’s group phase kicks off on Tuesday with two Serie A sides in action.

UEFA announced that the big PSG-Juventus match at Parc des Princes will be officiated by English referee Taylor, with German Marco Fritz as the VAR.

Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn of England are the assistant referees, with David Coote as the fourth official.

It is not the first time Taylor has crossed paths with Juventus, as he was in charge for their 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in December 2016 and 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in November 2019.

He has also officiated PSG on five occasions and they remain unbeaten, winning four – including the last-gasp 2-1 quarter-final against Atalanta in August 2020 – and drawing 1-1 with Barcelona in March last year.

UEFA appointed Serbian Jovanovic for the Milan trip to RB Salzburg, assisted by Uros Stojkovic, Milan Mihajlovic and fourth official Novak Simovic.

The VAR is German Bastian Dankert.

Jovanovic officiated the Rossoneri in the Europa League, their 1-0 win away to Dudelange in September 2018.
