The former Torino Coach has replaced Antonio Conte as Italy CT, and will lead the Azzurri into the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
“We hope for a good response from him,” Tavecchio told reporters after a renewal of Eurovita’s sponsorship of the national team.
“Ventura is a great Coach and also motivator. We’ll start with the exciting approach that he talked about.

Tavecchio was also asked for his opinion on two big transfer stories – Graziano Pellè’s move to China and Paul Pogba’s proposed switch from Juventus to Manchester United.
“Pellè is one of the highest-paid players in the world? I’m happy for him, and for Italy. What he did in the Euros raised his prestige.
“Pogba? Italian football has provided important opportunities for growth. We’ll see if his possible move to Manchester United occurs.”
