FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio insists Antonio Conte ‘will respect his contract’ and remain as Italy CT.

The former Juventus Coach took over the national team job last summer, but has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction over the role, admitting he misses day-to-day work.

That has lead to speculation that he could leave his post, or even take on another job at the same time, with Napoli linked.

The former Juventus Coach took over the national team job last summer, but has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction over the role, admitting he misses day-to-day work.

That has lead to speculation that he could leave his post, or even take on another job at the same time, with Napoli linked.

However, speaking today at an event to commemorate 100 years since Casale won the Scudetto, the President of the Federation ruled those things out.

“There has never been any problem between Antonio Conte and the FIGC,” Tavecchio assured.

“It’s natural that some clubs would come and ask for Conte, changes are part of life. However, Conte has a contract and he’ll respect it.

“We’re not ones to sign a contract and then not respect it.”

Tavecchio also praised Juventus after their Champions League win over Monaco last night.

“I’m very happy that Juventus won yesterday. If they don’t progress in the Champions League it would be a problem for Italy and the coefficient.

“They deserve praise.”
