There was controversy this week when Lazio held their Christmas dinner, amid reports seven players went home before President Claudio Lotito got to make his speech.

This infuriated the patron, who during his comments lambasted “some who have forgotten about team spirit and don’t understand the sacrifices that are being made. Remember, you exist because someone makes you visible.

“I saw some left, so in your view is that a lack of respect?”

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the players who left early were Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Stefan Radu, Toma Basic, Dimitrije Kamenovic, Felipe Anderson, Adam Marusic and Denis Vavro.

“When things aren’t going the way they should in terms of results, then what happened during the Christmas dinner can be interpreted as controversial,” argued director Igli Tare on DAZN this evening.

“There are moments you need to overcome with calm and hard work.”

Lazio have offered coach Sarri a contract extension, even though he only arrived this summer and results have been far from convincing.

“Our project does not promise miracles, but a decisive change made with the coach six months ago. We are on the right track, so difficult moments must be accepted and faced in the right way, with determination and belief.

“Renewing Sarri’s contract was a sign of how much we have faith in this direction.”

  1. Renewing Sarri is insane, he lasted a year at Chelsea and a year at Juve – but this is good news for Juve because he needs a pure registra and ARTHUR is perfect for Sarriball !
