“I think our season deserves seven out of 10. It would’ve been nine if we’d qualified for the Champions League, but it takes time to get where we want to be with planning and gradual growth. We’ll get there,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia.

“There’s no drama. Obviously, there are moments of reflection for all concerned, but we had lunch together with the team yesterday, including the President.

“We’ll have the opportunity to sit down over the next few days and discuss the situation. I’m sure we will take steps forward.”

Tare was asked if it was true that Juventus have earmarked Inzaghi for the bench as a replacement for Max Allegri.

“That is not a question for me to answer. He knows what he has in Lazio and Lazio know what they have in Inzaghi, so I’ve never even considered the prospect of him leaving.

“As far as we are concerned, he without doubt has to stay, as he is Lazio from top to toes. There are no problems, one way or another, but I and the President have been very clear and I think Simone wants the same.

“We’ll meet to discuss a contract renewal over the next few days.”
