“We have nothing to lose and everything to gain here. We had that mentality last season and emerged with the victory, and we arrive today with the same attitude,” the director of sport told Sky Sport Italia.
Lazio brought in Francesco Acerbi and Joaquin Correa to replace Stefan de Vrij and Felipe Anderson.
“We play with three centre-backs and very attacking full-backs, which means we concede a lot of goals, but also score a great deal too. Now we’re trying to adjust to concede fewer, as we lost access to the Champions League for one goal.
“Balance makes the difference and this season we’ve added players who bring quality, but also experience who can raise the level of the whole team.
“Acerbi gives a real sense of balance to the team and all the signings we made were well chosen along with the Coach.”
This week there was controversy when video leaked of President Claudio Lotito shouting insults at Coach Simone Inzaghi on the phone, saying the tactician was “always moaning” and urging him to get more out of the players.
“Anyone who knows our President is well aware that he has these moments, he’s had them with me too, but a few minutes later he calls back and it’s all sorted out,” assured Tare.
