Roma talks for Taison have hit an impasse, confirmed his agent, because Shakhtar Donetsk “want the €30m clause paid.”

The 31-year-old winger has made his desire to follow Coach Paulo Fonseca to the Stadio Olimpico very clear, even pleading on social media for the club to “let me go.”

However, under contract until June 2021 and with an option to extend already present, Taison is stuck.

The 31-year-old winger has made his desire to follow Coach Paulo Fonseca to the Stadio Olimpico very clear, even pleading on social media for the club to “let me go.”

However, under contract until June 2021 and with an option to extend already present, Taison is stuck.

“The situation is stalled by Shakhtar’s refusal to negotiate. They want the buyout clause paid. Another Italian side even tried to negotiate but they were unsuccessful,” agent Diego Dornelles told RomaPress.

“The clause is €30m.”

It is rumoured the other Italian club that made an approach for Taison was Milan.

There have been five competitive games so far in the Ukrainian season, with Taison already contributing two goals and four assists.

He has been in Ukraine since 2010 for Metalist Kharkiv, then joined Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2013.
