Milan midfielder Suso believes “there are never favourites” in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

The Rossoneri can give themselves a five-point cushion in the final Europa League spot with a win over their city rivals on Saturday morning, but the Spaniard isn’t taking anything for granted.

“I don’t think there are ever favourites in a match like this,” Suso told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They’ll start at the maximum because they want to win, they’ll come in depressed by their defeat [to Crotone] and the early training camp.

“We’re just focused on our work though, the error not to be repeated from the first match is not to drop off too much if we find ourselves in front again.”

A Chinese group is finally expected to complete a takeover of the Diavolo today, how could that impact on Suso’s future?

“I’m happy here, I don’t know how many times I’ve said it. Let’s see what happens in the summer.

“The closing? I don’t know if it’s better or worse, maybe it won’t change much. I experienced a similar situation at Liverpool, the sale of the club and the arrival of a lot of new people.

“They backed me into a corner with only one year on my contract. I wanted to change and Milan came in, great.

“I don’t think they’ll buy too many players this time though, at least not on the left wing.”
