Suso called new Milan Coach Gennaro Gattuso “a great motivator” and hopes “we don’t change tactics again, as 4-3-3 is the right system.”

The Rossoneri ended their negative streak with a 2-1 victory over Bologna last night.

“We knew that it was a very important game, as this had been a negative period and three points were sorely-needed,” Suso told Mediaset Premium ahead of this evening’s Christmas dinner.

It was the first victory since Vincenzo Montella was sacked to make way for Gattuso.

“I always said that I had, and still have, a very good rapport with Montella. It’s the same with Gattuso, as he is a great motivator who speaks to the players and knows what everyone can give.”

A decisive shift against Bologna saw Gattuso shelve the three-man defence.

“We hope not to change tactics again. I think 4-3-3 is the right system, as yesterday when we were on 1-1, we introduced two strikers. I am happy and I think it’s the best tactic for us.

“We hadn’t trained at such an intense level for a long time, but we’re more accustomed to it now and needed a period to adjust.”

Milan learned today they will take on Ludogorets in the Europa League Round of 32 in February.

“Obviously Ludogorets are better than Atletico Madrid in the draw, but we want to go as far as possible regardless of who we face.”
