“We’ve set ourselves the goal of returning to play in Europe,” Suso told Onda Cero.

“At the moment we’re only thinking about that and taking it one match at a time. What we’ve done so far won’t help us at all if the next matches bring bad results.”

Suso was also asked about Vincenzo Montella, and the style of play in Italian football.

“For the moment everything is fine, and the Coach is hitting everything. After the many years of problems, it was important for someone to find the formula for a successful Milan, and Montella has managed it.

“I was very surprised by the way he focused on youngsters, he doesn’t care about your age if you can make a contribution to the team.

“We’re a very young Milan, different than the others. In Italy they say that this is dangerous, but we’re showing that it’s not and we have to continue on this path.

“Serie A? For me, Italian football is the most difficult time of all. It’s the most tactical and rigorous. The teams lock themselves down and it’s very difficult to play against them.

“I adapted from the first moment though, whether it was at Genoa or Milan I’ve felt at ease in this type of football.”
