Suso confirms “there’s a release clause” in his new contract but “I’m happy at Milan”.

The Spaniard extended his contract until 2022 back in September, and though there is a clause which would allow him to leave he’s not considering that as things stand.

“I’m playing every game at Milan, maybe it’s not the same as before but we’re improving and growing,” Suso told Sky.

The Spaniard extended his contract until 2022 back in September, and though there is a clause which would allow him to leave he’s not considering that as things stand.

“I’m playing every game at Milan, maybe it’s not the same as before but we’re improving and growing,” Suso told Sky.

“I could have left, but I stayed and I’m very happy. There’s a release clause but I’m happy at Milan.

“If I wanted to leave I wouldn’t have renewed and I would have left for a low price. I’m very happy here with the squad and my teammates.”

Suso’s form has seen him called-up to the Spanish national team, and he was asked whether it’s easier for him to go to the World Cup or for the Rossoneri to reach the Champions League.

“It’s easier for Milan to get into the Champions League, a team like Milan has to play in the Champions League, so many strong players have been bought and we’re doing things well.

“At the start we changed the formation, the boss [Vincenzo Montella] was looking for what we needed and he found it. We have a lot of new players and we have to continue in this way.

“As for the World Cup, I’m working well at Milan, I’m doing well and I still have to improve. If I do that then it’s a possibility.”

The winger arrived from Liverpool in 2015, but he initially struggled to get into the team and was loaned out to Genoa.

“I was calm,” Suso recalls.

“I knew I just had to find the right Coach like the boss who would give me a lot of confidence, whenever I go onto the pitch I want to do the best for him and the team.

“I’m very content with him, and I want to thank him on the pitch.

“He’s very important, he always plays me and he gives me the confidence I didn’t have before. I have a great relationship with him and I’m very happy.”
