Giovanni Stroppa admits Crotone ‘didn’t maintain the same standard’ of performance and became ‘demoralised’ after Bologna scored.

The only goal of the game was scored in first half stoppages, as despite an Alex Cordaz save and the crossbar, Roberto Soriano eventually bundled over the line.

“We played a very good first half, but didn’t maintain that standard after the break,” confessed Stroppa to Sky Sport Italia.

“We played a very good first half, but didn’t maintain that standard after the break,” confessed Stroppa to Sky Sport Italia.

“A team that is trying to avoid relegation cannot concede a goal like that. The goal then demoralised us and I didn’t expect Bologna to seem hungrier than we were in the second half.

“Unfortunately, due to various injuries and other issues, we’ve had to use the same players upfront since the start of the season, so Messias and Simy are fatigued.

“My main focus now has to be getting these players back in shape so we have more options, rather than being asked questions about the January transfer window.”
