Although the Giallorossi have had their best ever start to a season, notching up five consecutive victories to go alone on top of the table, everyone at the club has kept a low profile when it comes to title talk.
Dutch midfielder Strootman broke ranks in an interview with Sky Sport Italia and made a declaration of intent.
“Juventus remain the favourites for the Scudetto, but Roma are there too. I was so impressed by the way we celebrated the win at Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”34″>Sampdoria last night, all together including the kit staff.
“Coach Rudi Garcia came in and improved everything that wasn’t working. We’ve got great players here, as Miralem Pjanic is a real talent and Daniele De Rossi knows how to do everything.”
Strootman was a big summer signing for Roma, making the move from PSV Eindhoven for €17m plus a potential €2m in add-ons.
