Legendary Italian tactician Arrigo Sacchi believes that Andrea Stramaccioni has the ability to do well at Inter – if the club allow him to.
Stramaccioni has replaced Claudio Ranieri on the Nerazzurri hotseat after impressing the outfit with his work with the Primavera side.
While Stramaccioni is a new name in the Italian game, Sacchi has been following his career for some years.
“The Italian Football Federation and myself wanted him to take charge of the Italian Under-17 side last summer,” the former Milan tactician told Sky Sport Italia.
“He’s an interesting guy, a very prepared tactician despite being in a country that isn’t really prepared to invest in youngsters.
“I think he’ll have a chance to prove himself at Inter. He’s no wizard though and in order to do well he’ll need an environment where he will be able to work in peace.”
Stramaccioni, 36, is the club’s third tactician of the campaign after Ranieri replaced Gian Piero Gasperini in September.
“Inter haven’t lived up to their possibilities this season, but when things go wrong then it means that errors have been made by everyone,” added Sacchi.
