Andrea Stramaccioni admits he does hope to one day return to Inter, and says he wouldn’t have ever left if it had been down to Massimo Moratti.
The Coach left the Nerazzurri at the end of a difficult 2012-13 campaign and from this summer has been back in work with Udinese.
Even so, he has admitted that a return to the San Siro bench remains a real ambition.
“Yes, it is normal. We must speak with respect, there is a different ownership there that has made its choices and is also innovating,” Stramaccioni has told Radio Rai today.

“Yes, it is normal. We must speak with respect, there is a different ownership there that has made its choices and is also innovating,” Stramaccioni has told Radio Rai today.
“There is an ambition to one day return to an important team, notwithstanding that Udinese is an important team.
“I will tell you an anecdote – when [sporting director Piero] Ausilio renewed to 2017, jokingly I said: ‘Piero, come on, bring me back to Inter’. But it is a joke. I hope to continue at Udinese, who have invested in me.”
It was put to the 38-year-old that he would still be at Inter if Massimo Moratti was still President and owner.
“I cannot tell lies. You know that I was chosen by Moratti. I was a Coach built inside the house, so to speak.
“They had taken the time to evaluate me with the academy and on me there was a three-year project.
“But the decisive moment was when the President, two or three days after the end of the season, told me he had to sell a majority stake because selling just the one part of the club had not gone successfully.
“It is natural and right that after that things have been changed, including the Coach.”
Whilst Strama’s Udinese sit fourth in Serie A during the October international break, the Serpenti are in crisis in 10th place, following defeats to Cagliari and Fiorentina in their last two League games.
“Inter are one of the most popular teams in Italy, the numbers say this. I cannot deny that a piece of my heart remains in Milan.
“I am sorry that the team is experiencing such a moment, it is a situation where everything is amplified, for better or for worse.
“In Milan you have to win, there are fairly ambitious supporters there. It is not for me to judge the work of others, from the outside, but I hope for Ausilio – who I am bound to – that they return to the points.
“And for a lot of the guys who are there – I hope that they rise again immediately.”
