Lazio full-back Elseid Hysaj said ‘there’s no difference’ between playing with Thomas Strakosha or Pepe Reina. ‘They are both quality goalkeepers’.

The Biancocelesti prepare for the clash with Turkish giants Galatasaray in the Europa League at the Olimpico on Thursday.

Lazio are already through to the next phase with eight points from five games, as there’s a gap of four points down to Marseille at third.

Handanovic: ‘Real Madrid are not better than Inter’

Hysaj believes the Aquile are showing signs of improvement in recent weeks but stressed it takes time to adapt to the new coach.

“We have improved a lot,” Hysaj said at a press conference. “We score goals, we must learn not to concede.

“It takes time to absorb all the demands from the coach. If you want to play with a high line in midfield, you can’t miss anything.

“There are games in which we are certain, others in which we concede four goals. It’s not good. We need to be tighter and communicate more.”

Hysaj has played in all the roles at the back so far this campaign and has shown his versatility after joining Maurizio Sarri at Lazio.

“I’m a right-back, it’s easier for me to play there,” he admitted. “I play faster there. I also played as a centre-back, it’s not my role, but I try to do it in the best possible way.”

The defender was asked if anything changes when Thomas Strakosha or Pepe Reina plays in goal, but the former Napoli player stressed they are both quality goalkeepers.

“There’s no difference, they are two strong goalkeepers. One has more experience, the other still has to grow.”
