Adrian Stoian sees the use in the international break for Genoa, as it allows them to better understand Gian Piero Gasperini.

For one of those now working under Gasperini, the October international break is proving useful.

“The break serves us to better understand the Coach’s game,” Stoian mused to reporters this week.

“He loves to play on the wings and asks those out there to dribble with the ball much.

“We are happy with the point against Catania [in Week 7], it was the first with the new Coach.

“I would say that as individuals, we are above average in the League, but it is not individuals that win games.

“Against Catania we have proven to be a united group, and that is the only way we can achieve survival.”

Genoa’s next match is at home to Chievo.

“It is a particular game. They are fighting for survival like us. I want to be focused on Genoa.”
