Fiorentina Coach Vincenzo Montella doubts Tottenham Hotspur can ‘sustain their pace’, as he plans to tire them out.

Despite admitting that a goalless draw against Spurs in the Europa League Round of 32 tomorrow would be acceptable, the former Roma striker sees a weakness in his rivals.

“They started out strong last time, and I don't think that was due to their change in formation,” Montella has said in his pre-match Press conference.

“They lost something after the first 45. I don't think they can sustain that pace for the full 90.

“We play two different kinds of football. In Italy we're much more tactical, while in England there's greater focus on power and more transitions.

“We're not used to a physical game the way they are. The fact many of my players come from the Premier League is just a coincidence.

“I see a great desire to win in my team, but not an excess of euphoria.

“I'm hoping that our enthusiasm can give us strength, as we're up against a strong opponent.

“If the match goes on to penalties then we have a great chance of winning, as we have some credit with Lady Fortune.

“And our missed penalties of late? Last year we scored them all with Gonzalo. Missing a few penalties is acceptable. I'd hardly call it a syndrome.”
