Tottenham want Sassuolo starlet Domenico Berardi, but need to out-bid the Juventus option worth €25m.

Like Simone Zaza before him, Berardi was allowed to develop and become a Serie A regular at Sassuolo while Juve kept an option of first refusal.

Zaza has gone to Turin this summer and Berardi is widely expected to follow, but that is not necessarily the case.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Tottenham Hotspur have a very strong interest in the 21-year-old.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Tottenham Hotspur have a very strong interest in the 21-year-old.

Spurs could get to the player if Juve hesitate on the option and the London side offers considerably more than €25m.

Sassuolo consider his realistic price-tag to be closer to €40m.

Berardi has an astounding record for someone of his age, scoring 33 goals in 71 Serie A games and providing 19 assists.

Unfortunately he also has a temper and just completed a three-match ban for a reaction foul.

In 71 top flight matches, the forward has received three red cards and 27 bookings.

The details of Sassuolo's agreement with Juventus have never been announced formally, but there are reports the Bianconeri would pay only €16m in 2016 and €25m in 2017.
