According to Sportitalia pundit Alfredo Pedullà, there was a seven-hour meeting with members of Sarri’s entourage today in London.

It proved positive and they are preparing a two-year contract for Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly ready to pay the €8m release clause in his contract.

That clause expires on May 31 and, although Napoli fired Sarri, they could still demand payment to release the tactician.

It has been theorised that David Luiz could be offered as part of an exchange.

This is a complex and costly operation because Chelsea must also negotiate terminating current boss Antonio Conte's contract.
